    Fri 10 Sep 2021

Well what a week we have had!

It was lovely to welcome our children back into our wonderful school on Monday for the first day of our 2021-2022 school year.

Every single one came in with a happy, smiling face and it was such a joy to have them all here. Our new reception children took it all in their stride and had an amazing day getting to know their classroom and their teachers.

  • A Fairy Tale of a Day

    Wed 08 Sep 2021

Today the Year 1 children launched their new term’s topic ‘Mirror, Mirror on the Wall’ with a fabulous Fairytale Day. Children came to school dressed as a huge array of characters from their favourite fairy tales.

Pretty Princesses, Jolly Giants and Crafty Creatures filled the Year 1 classroom for some fun-filled learning opportunities. The children enjoyed creating their own magic mirrors, building their own beanstalks and retelling tales throughout the day, as well as creating their own traditional tales. Louise Jordan, class teacher and Assistant Headteacher said ‘’It is always a wonderful start to a topic with the children fully immersed in this way. We have had such a magical time and it has already given us some amazing hooks to start our new term’s learning.’’

  • Inspire+ Roadshow Y5 & 6

    Thu 17 Jun 2021

Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic time today as part of the Inspire+ Roadshow.

Year 5 worked with Carl and Chris on Team building challenges, learning to work together to solve problems and complete tasks. The blindfold challenge proved tricky but they persevered and succeeded in the end.

Year 6 wowed Chris with their approach to the team building tasks,  communicating amazingly well and finishing in record time. They also worked with paralympian Sam Ruddock and learned the basics of American Football, a new addition to the Inspire+ portfolio.

All in all a brilliant day with new challenges and skills taken on with a real Colsterworth WOW factor!
