Our Year 6 pupils have been busy developing their sewing skills by designing and making their own Christmas stockings. They began by planning their designs and choosing suitable fabrics before learning key stitches such as running stitch, whipstitch and backstitch.
Throughout the project, pupils showed great concentration, creativity, and resilience as they carefully stitched their stockings together and added decorative details. The finished stockings are a wonderful example of their hard work and festive spirit, and we are extremely proud of the skills they have developed.
A big congratulations to Aria from the Year 2 class, whose beautiful angel artwork has been selected for this year’s parish Christmas card. Her thoughtful design and careful attention to detail truly captured the spirit of the season. The parish was delighted by the creativity shown, and Aria’s artwork will now be shared with families and friends throughout the community.
Also to Aki in Year 5 whose design won the year 5 & 6 section of the competition.
Well done, both of you.
Well done to our Golden children of the week.
Our fantastic choir delivered a memorable performance at the village festive light switch‑on after heavy rain forced the group and onlookers to relocate into the nearby church.
Far from dampening the occasion, the change of venue created an unexpectedly atmospheric setting, with the choir’s harmonies filling the historic building and earning warm applause from families and residents.
Despite the downpour, turnout remained strong, and the switch‑on went ahead as planned. Organisers and school staff praised the children for their composure and the community for embracing the last‑minute change, calling the performance a highlight of this year’s celebrations.
Well done everybody.
