  • Christmas Comes To Colsterworth

    Fri 28 Nov 2025

Christmas officially began in style this evening as our beautiful Christmas tree was proudly erected in the hall, marking the start of one of our most cherished traditions. Excitement filled the air as the children from our Kids’ Club gathered eagerly, ready to transform the tree into a dazzling centrepiece of festive cheer.

Armed with boxes of ornaments, sparkling tinsel, and twinkling lights, the children worked together with enthusiasm and creativity. Each decoration was placed with care, and laughter echoed through the hall as the tree slowly came to life. From classic baubles to handmade crafts which have been created by the children over a number of years, the carefully chosen decorations reflected the joy and imagination of all of our pupils.

This annual tradition is more than just decorating a tree—it’s about bringing our community together, celebrating the spirit of giving, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. The hall now radiates warmth and festive magic, ready to welcome everyone for the upcoming events.

As we admire the finished tree, we are reminded that the true beauty of the season lies in these moments of togetherness and joy. A big thank you to our Kids’ Club for making this year’s tree so special!

  • Christmas Joy in the Community

    Tue 25 Nov 2025

It is that time again for the annual Christmas Tree Festival at St Wulfram’s Church in Grantham.
Wow! The moment you walk through the doors, you are greeted by a magical forest of Christmas trees sparkling and glittering in the festive lights.

This year the children decided on a theme based on Issac Newton and our Colsterworth School logo. During Golden Time a group of budding artists have used their God given talents using mix media to create an array of 'take care' apple designs.

This wonderful community event celebrates local schools, charities and organisations from across the Grantham area. It is a truly joyful way to begin the season of Advent, reminding us of the importance of friendship, togetherness and giving.

What a lovely start to this special time of year!

Children at Colsterworth Primary School showed great enthusiasm and commitment as they created their Christmas card designs for the Parish Christmas Card Competition. They took exceptional care with their drawing and colouring, producing thoughtful and detailed artwork that highlighted their growing skills. Using a wide range of media, including pencils, paints, pastels and collage materials, the pupils explored different textures and effects to bring their festive ideas to life. From bright, bold colours to gentle winter shades, each design reflected the children’s creativity and the pride they took in their work. Overall, the collection of entries showcased the wonderful artistic talent and festive spirit of the school community.

  • Tigers Explore Science with Popplet!

    Thu 13 Nov 2025

This week in Tigers, children have been exploring new ways to share their understanding and ask questions using the iPad app Popplet. In their science lesson, the children created interactive mind maps to prepare for their exciting new topic, “What’s the Attraction?”, which focuses on fractions and magnetism.

Using Popplet allowed the children to organise their ideas visually, make connections between concepts, and collaborate with their peers. It’s a fantastic tool for encouraging curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking — and the children really enjoyed seeing their ideas come to life on the screen!

This innovative approach not only supports learning in science but also helps pupils develop digital skills, confidence in presenting ideas, and the ability to ask meaningful questions, setting them up for success across the curriculum.
