School Uniform
School uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of a school and setting an appropriate tone. Most schools in England have a school uniform or dress code, at Colsterworth C of E Primary School we believe that to have a uniform can instil pride; support positive behaviour and discipline; encourage identity with, and support for, school ethos; ensure pupils of all races and backgrounds feel welcome; protect children from social pressures to dress in a particular way; and nurture cohesion and promote good relations between different groups of pupils. Above all, we believe that school uniform supports effective teaching and learning.
Our school’s uniform
The school’s colours are red and grey and parents/carers should provide uniforms for their children, which must be selected from the list below:
PE and Games
Pupils should wear t-shirts in matching house colours with logo and black shorts.
A red sweatshirt with logo or red hoodie with logo (KS1) or red hoodie with logo (KS2) and black tracksuit bottoms or running leggings should be worn for games during the ‘chilly’ months. Trainers must be worn for outdoor PE in all year groups and black plimsolls for indoor PE for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
Swimming
As part of our PE curriculum, pupils may have the opportunity to participate in swimming lessons for which they will need a swimming costume. Please note no bikinis may be worn and shorts should be above the knee. Parents/carers will always be given plenty of notice that swimming lessons are planned.
