Africa Day Huge Hit with Pupils
Fri 09 Jul 2021Children took part in Africa Day today. They danced and sang their way through the day, walked a mile around the field and completed a number of activities centered around the African continent and our links with Nyansakia.
6C learnt a song called 'Jambo Bwana' which in Swahili means 'Hello Sir. They played African instruments and rhythms. Take a look at their recording 6C Jambo Bwana
2B walked 'A Mile in their Shoes' to remind us that some people have to walk a long way for food and water or even to get to school.

Inspire+ Roadshow Y5 & 6
Thu 17 Jun 2021Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic time today as part of the Inspire+ Roadshow.
Year 5 worked with Carl and Chris on Team building challenges, learning to work together to solve problems and complete tasks. The blindfold challenge proved tricky but they persevered and succeeded in the end.
Year 6 wowed Chris with their approach to the team building tasks, communicating amazingly well and finishing in record time. They also worked with paralympian Sam Ruddock and learned the basics of American Football, a new addition to the Inspire+ portfolio.
All in all a brilliant day with new challenges and skills taken on with a real Colsterworth WOW factor!

Inspire+ Mini Olympics Day
Tue 15 Jun 2021The whole school donned their PE Kits today and took to the school field for our Inspire+ Mini Olympics. After an opening ceremony from the Inspire+ team the children had a brilliant time taking part in competitive races and supporting their school country of Jamaica. We even took part in a mass dance with other schools in the area.

What A Fabulous First Week!
Fri 11 Jun 2021Our brilliant children have hit the ground running this week and have completed some absolutely amazing learning already, as well as making the most of the glorious sunshine and using our fabulous outdoor areas.
2B started athletics in PE! They learnt all about sprinting techniques, taking it in turns to be sprinting coaches and give feedback to their partners. In English, they looked at the story 'The Disgusting Sandwich and had a go at making their own disgusting sandwiches to inspire their writing. They did a great job at making truly revolting sandwiches!
3H have been learning how to tell the time and learnt some new golfing skills.
4T loved their golf starter session with Inspire+ and have started their work on electricity investigating and creating simple circuits.
Children from 5M have written some absolutely phenomenal reports on climate change and enjoyed their 'Fun and Fitness' club on Monday evening with Mrs Morgan.
6C learnt all about blood and made their own 'foodie' version with cheerios and marshmallows and also had a fantastic afternoon playing tennis with James from Inspire+.

Year 4 Fun at PGL
Tue 18 May 2021Year 4 were lucky enough to be invited for a fun filled, morning of action at PGL Caythorpe. They took part in two activities: buggy building and the giant swing. Team work, courage and lots of smiles could be seen making Miss Taylor and Mrs Cornish very proud. We really hope we can go back to take part in more of the exciting activities.
