• Chicks are Full of Colour for Pattern Day

  The children came into school in their brightest, most patterned and colourful clothes to show how unique and special they are – just like Elmer.

  The children joined in with numerous Elmer pattern activities.  We started by ‘parading’ into Collective Worship.  Our ‘pattern parade’ was in front of the whole school! We painted and used the computer to create a colourful Elmer with a partner. We completed an ‘Elmer Drive’ (like a Beetle Drive but with elephants!), we retold the story of Elmer, copied and completed patterns and created our own using a variety of resources and we helped the Numberblocks solve pattern mysteries.

  The children were fabulous.  They joined in brilliantly and are, most definitely, ‘Positively Perfect Patterners!’

  

• Creating memories at "Create Day '24"

  Year 4 and Year 5 represented Colsterworth School beautifully for the Royal Ballet and Opera House Create Day at St. Wulfram’s Church in Grantham this week. They showed a great amount of perseverance whilst learning the intense choreography and their music smart skills were clearly visible during the singing practice. All of their hard work paid off for the final performance alongside children from other Grantham schools. Each child sang and danced to a high level, in front of a VIP audience as well as video cameras - even Mr. Willerton had a little dance! An enjoyable day all round, well done Year 4 and Year 5.

• Hanna is an 'Agent of Change'

  Year 4 pupil Hanna has raised £362.50 for Bone Cancer Research by walking, trotting and cantering 15km on her horse. She really is an 'Agent of Change.'

  

• Bronze Ambassadors get Gold!

  Our year 5 and 6 Bronze Ambassadors have been working hard this year, dedicating their time and enthusiasm to inspiring healthy, happy and active lifestyles across the school through leading active play, hosting collective worships and organising our annual sports day. In recognition for their hard work and to celebrate their achievements in sports leadership, they were presented with a GOLD young ambassadors award at the Mini Olympics by athletes Jonathan Broom-Edwards and Joe Roebuck! What an inspiration they are to us all!

  

• Fun at the Mini Olympics

  This week, Years 3 & 4, along with the Young Ambassadors, certainly were healthy, happy and active as they attended the mini olympics held in Grantham led by Inspire+. Representing Belgium, the children took part in a range of activities that required more than just sport smart skills. Great teamwork, friendship and self-belief were shown by all taking part. It was a superb day and thankfully the rain stayed away. 

  

• My 'SMART' Achievement of the Week
