Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We were flying high at Colsterworth Primary School this week as a group of our key stage two pupils were invited to face their fears taking part in outdoor adventurous activities at PGL in Caythorpe.
As part of their wellbeing learning, the pupils all worked to develop confidence, courage and team work skills as they took on the giant swing and Jacob’s ladder climbing challenges.
Wellbeing lead Mrs Cornish said “The pupils were full of enthusiasm for the day, everyone took on a role supporting each other and the joy on their faces when they completed a challenge was amazing to see - what an experience! “
Our year 3 and 4 pupils were treated to an immersive RE learning experience on Monday as they travelled to the Bibles Times event at Market Overton.
The afternoon of learning began with an in depth look at the life of Jesus supported by actors playing key roles from the bible. Following this engaging start pupils were able to take part in a range of activities aiming to deepen their understanding of the times Jesus lived in, including dressing up, food tasting and a challenging quiz. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning in such a hands on way and gained so much understanding from the different activities.
Well done to all of our Golden Book children this week.
Year 6 pupil Eden has won a nationwide competition to help spread kindness. As part of the school’s Kindness Club, pupils were challenged to design their own inspirational T-shirt to promote messages of positivity. Kindness charity, 52 Lives, picked Eden’s winning design of ‘Bee-Live in yourself’ and transformed her vision into a reality creating T-shirts for all of her class.
The eye catching design features a personal message that is written in reverse so only the wearer can read it when looking in a mirror. Eden and her fellow year 6 Kindness Club members were delighted to receive matching purple t-shirts, proudly displaying their friend’s message.
“The reaction to these amazing T-shirts was fabulous, the children couldn’t hide their smiles and the buzz quickly spread around the school, showing the power kindness can have,” commented Kindness Club leader Mrs Cornish.
