Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
You can’t forget about the Toucans’ amazing class assembly!
This week, Toucans amazed all with their superb class assembly. They sung beautifully, said their lines clearly and smiled the whole way through. All of their hard work really paid off and Miss Taylor was so proud of them.
Congratulations to all of our Golden Book children this week.
Pupils at Colsterworth Primary School were in full restuarant mode this week as they were joined by chef Darren from Roots to Food. Drawing together their science learning and a focused healthy eating week, pupils from year 1 to 6 donned their aprons and chef hats as they prepared their own Italian pasta dish. Polishing their cutting, marinating and searing skills, the children learnt how to create their own healthy meal and worked in small teams to do just that on Wednesday 19th April. The halls of the school were filled with the mouth watering smells of chicken, basil and tomatoes as each group took their turn to cook and most importantly taste their vegetable filled pasta dish. Smiles were a plenty as both children and teachers tucked in.
See below for the recipe!
Well done to our Golden children of the week.
Millie wowed Miss Taylor and the rest of Toucans in show and tell this week, by telling us all about the postcard she received from her new favourite author, Hannah Gold. After reading two of her books, Millie wrote to tell Hannah how amazing her stories were and was so excited when she received a postcard back.
Millie has been inspired to write her own books and we hope that one day it will be Millie writing back to a fan!
Our Key Stage 2 children were lucky enough to be able to take part in the Easter Experience at Stoke Rochford Church today which was organised by Reverend Neil and friends of the church. The children went along in three groups and took part in activities which helped them to understand the Story of Easter.
The activities followed Jesus through the Easter Story starting with his arrival in Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. We then used activities to explain and understand the different parts of the story including washing his disciples feet, his conversations in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection from the tomb.
