  • Kindness Club Spread Christmas Cheer

    Thu 29 Dec 2022

Kindness Club definitely spread some Christmas cheer this year.  Daisy in Year 6 had the fabulous idea of creating 'Kindness Baskets' to share with the local residents and the club soon got to work assembling them.  Each basket consisted of a selection of goodies: a book, soap, candles, puzzles etc.  Kindness Club wrapped up warm and set off on their journey to deliver the baskets which were, as you can imagine, all gratefully received!

  • Christmas Celebrations

    Fri 16 Dec 2022

We held our attendance assembly this afternoon. A huge amount of children received their bronze attendance certificates to show that they have attended school every day since September and are now aiming for their silver certificate in the Easter term.

A very excited Rose was pulled out of the hat for her 100% attendance. She and her family won the Christmas hamper to celebrate the festive season.

Attendance is very important to our children and this term's attendance assembly showed how dedicated our children and their parents and carers are!

  • What an Inspiration!

    Mon 12 Dec 2022

Today we were lucky enough to be joined by Paralympic athlete Sam Ruddock who came to share his story with us. Through his sporting journey, we learnt the importance of hydration, sleep and having an organised plan to help us work towards our targets. It was amazing to have Sam in school to allow us a chance to reflect upon how our focus can become distracted in life and stop us from achieving our goals. We saw the success Sam achieved following his tips as he showed off his gold cycling medal - what an inspiration!

  • Veni, Vidi, Vici

On a cold Friday in December, the children of Toucan class at Colsterworth Primary School were transported to Ancient Rome for a day of historical enrichment activities. Edible roads were made (and eaten) from different types of biscuits, the traditional pauper dish of pottage was planned, made and eaten and finally the children explored a range of artefacts developing their enquiry and questioning skills. All of this amazing learning took place whilst dressed as a Roman. The classroom was full of gladiators, soldiers, Gods and Goddesses. The children certainly came, saw and conquered their Roman day.
