Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Well done to all of our Golden Book children this week.
The children (and staff) came together today in aid of Comic Relief Red Nose Day by dressing up as Super Heroes.
Alongside the Marvel and DC characters it was lovely to see doctors, nurses, mums, dads, teachers and other key workers represented.
One of our favourites was Mia in Year 6 who came as Rosie the Riveter, from the iconic propaganda images of the Second World War. Rosie was the star of a campaign aimed at recruiting female workers for defence industries during World War II and she has become perhaps the most iconic image of working women.
Well done to all of Golden Book children this week.
Year 4 had a fantastic fun-filled time at PGL this week taking part in outdoor and teambuilding activities. They have tried archery, climbing, abseiling and giant swing along with exciting evening activities. Have a look at some of our pictures.
Year 1 did an absolutely fabulous job showing off their amazing learning to parents and carers in their class assembly today taking us on an adventure 'Into the Unknown' We were taken back in time by a real life time traveller to 1492 where we met Christopher Columbus and sailed with him on the Santa Maria all the way to San Salvador! We met a number of other famous explorers on our time travelling journey including Captain Robert Falcon Scott, Amelia Earhart and we even witnessed Neil Armstrong taking his first steps on the moon reminding us that if we try hard we can reach our goals and have 'A Million Dreams.' A true inspiration and a perfect five star performance.
The legacy tour has landed in Colsterworth Primary School! The School’s year 5 and 6 sports leaders led the way with the support of Kai and Kelsey from the inspire+ sports charity. The young leaders inspired their school friends to be healthy, happy and active while teaching them facts about the upcoming commonwealth games. With a pledge to increase competitive events during outdoor play times, the pupils have kickstarted the run up to attending the local mini olympics event where they will represent Japan for the day.
What a fantastic day we have had celebrating World Book Day. We kicked it off with a challenge from author Bethan Woollvin to create a new character for her book 'Three Little Vikings' and ended with a chance to share a story with other children across the school.
We saw characters from traditional tales and well known stories alongside superheroes, aliens and wizards.
An amazing and fun filled day was had by all.
It’s been a busy and active few days in Colsterworth school this week with a group of year 5 pupils taking to the roads to learn a range of cycling skills. While developing skills of communication, observation and positioning the pupils completed a range of manoeuvres and tasks while safely moving around the village. The children were so proud of their progress through the week and their achievement of a level 2 bike ability award at the end.
