  • Well done to our Bronze Dojo Award winners

    Fri 23 Oct 2020

It was lovely to be able to award fourteen members of our Year 6 bubble with their Bronze Dojo Award today. They have worked hard during this first term earning dojos for reading, homework and being all round super stars!

We look forward to seeing children from our other bubbles following in their footsteps in the next few weeks. Maybe we'll even see a few Silver Awards being handed out before the end of Term 2.

  • Playground Leader Graduation!

Tue 20 Oct 2020 Louise Jordan
This term some of our children have been busy completing their playground leader training with Mrs Cornish and Jack from Inspire+. There are now at least two children from each bubble in Key Stage 2 that can lead playtime games for a fun and enjoyable break time!
  • 2B's Take Care Homework

    Fri 16 Oct 2020

2B were challenged to use junk modelling to create a vehicle linked to people who help us. Great work 2B!

  • Year 3 Golden Book

Mon 12 Oct 2020 Louise Jordan
Well done to our fabulous children in the Year 3 Golden Book! You have all made a wonderful start to Key Stage 2!
  • Meet our new Student Council

    Fri 09 Oct 2020

At Colsterworth all the children have a voice and are involved in developments at the school. Class councils are held regularly to discuss and agree what the children want their Student Councillors to do. Their ideas are then taken to the School Council which meets once a month. We are members of the School Councils UK.

Representatives are elected each year for our Student Council. They meet once a term or every six weeks to talk about projects they are leading or things children at our school want to change or introduce.

Usually we focus on the time of year for a fund raising project.

Our new Student Council had their first socially distant meeting today and we look forward to hearing from them in the next few weeks.

  • Harvest at Colsterworth

Tue 06 Oct 2020 Louise Jordan

Thanks to Reverend Neil, we were still able to hold our wonderful Harvest Festival service in Church. Children from Year 1 to 6 attended at intervals throughout the day for their own service in their 'bubbles.' Our Reception children held their own Harvest Festival in their classroom in school, but also got to be a part of the service by watching the video link.

Alongside the community, the children are still able to donate to the Grantham Food Bank as the church is open throughout the day. It is amazing to see that even in such different times our children are dedicated to being ‘Agents of Change’.

  • UNICEF Ambassadors

Mon 05 Oct 2020 Louise Jordan
Congratulations to our UNICEF Ambassadors Mils and Oliver who were voted into post by their peers in the Year 6 'bubble'. The children wrote their own manifestos about their rights and their interpretation of the role of UNICEF Ambassadors. We can't wait for them to share their ideas as we move towards our UNICEF Silver Award!
  • Year 4 Golden Book

Mon 05 Oct 2020 Louise Jordan
Well done to Flynn, Brody, Daisy and Daisy, our fantastic Year 4 children in the Golden Book this week!
  • Vile Victorians

Fri 02 Oct 2020 Louise Jordan
Our Year 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed an immersive 'Vile Victorians' day on the 2nd October. Children came to school dressed in Victorian clothes, sampled life in the Victorian classroom and took a tour of our village, finding out about its history and links to the Victorian era. A fantastic day was had by all and the day certainly sparked the children's imagination and led them to ask thoughtful and insightful questions.
