Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Today, we celebrated with our harvest festival in school with Reverend Neil. Each class provided their own harvest gift in the form of poems and artwork to share with each other.
Thank you to all those who donated food items to our Harvest collection. We are sure they will be gratefully received.
Well done to all of our Golden Book children this week.
The children were a ray of sunshine today in their yellow as they dug out custard yellow socks, neon leg warmers and banana yellow tops to support #HelloYellow for World Mental Health Day. It was a simple idea; wear something bright and cheery yellow but it carried a BIG message. We wanted to show young people they are not alone with their mental health. Supporting the #HelloYellow was important to our children, so our Student Council, Wellbeing Warriors and UNICEF ambassadors worked together to promote a great non uniform day, raising funds to support the Young Minds charity who help young people with their mental health. After such a long year of more downs than ups, the children saw it as vital to get together and have fun for a great cause. They lit up the school with their smiles and kindness definitely shone through.
#HelloYellow takes place on World Mental Health Day and is part of the Young Minds campaign to fight the stigma of talking about mental health with our children.
A little bit of yellow goes a long way…
National Poetry Day is a UK-wide celebration of poetry, taking place on 7th October 2021, and our theme was Choice.
Our children in school all wrote a poem on the theme of 'Choice' and shared these in their classes, as well as sharing a range of poetry types and enjoying various activities throughout the day.
Two fabulous poets were chosen from each class for the 'Willoughby Poetry Competition' Have a read of their amazing poems!
Well done to all of our Golden Book children this week.
