  The marvellous Mills showed of her God Given Talents with her pallette of choice homework this term. She used many skills to create her own amazing jungle habitat from scratch. What fantastic home learning!

  Today Inspire+ held a virtual Mini Olympics!

• Hope for ALL

  After Mrs Jordan's Collective Worship based on the Christian Value of 'Hope' our children created various posters and pictures of what hope means to them. Our youngest children put their fine motor skills to the test by creating weaved rainbows while some of our older children wrote the story of 'Noah's Ark' in their own words. • Incredible Ice Sculptures

  Our 'Keyworker Crew' were busy working on an ice sculpture project. After collecting a range of flowers and leaves from the outdoor area they were then frozen into floating floral sculptures before being turned out and used as inspiration for our own watercolour paintings. The results were stunning! 

  

• Eco-Schools Bronze Award

  Wow!  Since September 2019 Mrs Abbey,  and our Eco Governor Mrs Nichols, have been busy building a Team of Eco Warriors to support our school on its journey to gaining the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award.

          

  The Eco-Schools Programme is pupil-led, involving hands-on learning that gets the whole school and the wider community involved in exciting environmental projects. The Eco-Schools Green Flag is an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning. As a school we are busy working up to Green Flag level by achieving Bronze and Silver awards, which are ‘stepping stones’ along the way.

   

  As a result of the hard work from Mrs Abbey, Mrs Nichols, the Eco-Team and the pupils and staff, Colsterworth Primary are delighted to have gained the Bronze Award.

   

  Watch this space for new and exciting initiatives from our Eco Warriors as we embark on our journey towards the Silver Award!

  We would like to take the opportunity to make a heartfelt thank you for taking the governments advice to only send your children to school if absolutely necessary today. We have only had parents in this morning who are key workers and have no alternative childcare to look after their children. From all of our staff, thank you.

• Samantha Claims Top Spot

  A number of our pupils received their bronze dojo award today for achieving 100 class dojo points up to this point in the year. 

   

  Year 6 pupil Samantha however was top of the class and was awarded the Silver award for earning over 250 class dojo points this school year. Samantha loves to read and has earned her numerous points by reading every single day of the year so far.

• More fun at PGL!

  Some of our children were living the high life today as they enjoyed a morning of activities at PGL Caythorpe. The event, provided by the Sports Charity Inspire+, gave a selection of Key Stage 2 children the opportunity to try out brand new outdoor and adventurous activities such as archery and a giant swing! 

   

  The fun filled morning challenged the children to use all of their courage, teamwork skills and definitely their singing voices as they enthusiastically joined in with their PGL leaders singing their way between activities. 

   

  he smiles on their faces were a clear sign of their enjoyment as they supported each other to step outside of their comfort zone swinging high on the giant swing.

   

  It was a fantastic morning for all involved!
