Diwali Day
On 20th November we had a whole school Diwali day with Sunita. She started the day with an assembly about Rama and Sita. We enjoyed doing actions in the story and we were glad it had a happy ending. Hanuman, the monkey god helped Rama and Sita to defeat Ravana.
Our school has amazing iPads and we used them to make a PicCollage of the story. We also learnt about Hindu gods and good over evil.
Year 3 we had fun making Rangoli patterns. They are used to decorate their homes and walls to welcome guests to their celebrations. We also enjoyed making Diva lamps because Hindus are reminded of the lights that guided Rama, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman back.
Reception class tasted Indian foods and wrote descriptions using their senses, dressed in clothing, danced with Sunita and learned the story of Rama and Sita.
