This week, Panthers were transported to the time of the ‘Vile Victorians’ where they learned what a terrible place school was. Miss Taylor and Mrs Cornish took on the role of school mistresses and the class chanted to God, copied passages onto chalkboards and underwent hand cleanliness inspections. We quickly realised how few Rights they had compared to us today. Thankfully, the school mistresses couldn’t stay in character for too long and it was time to search for clues from Victorian past around Colsterworth. Drawing attention from many wowed members of the community, we identified the dead house, old taverns and the first school in the village. It really was a brilliant beginning to learning and we cannot wait to find out even more.
