Roots to Food - Szechuan Chicken Recipe

Pupils were in full restaurant mode this week as they were joined by chef Darren from Roots to Food. Drawing together their science learning and a focused healthy eating week, pupils from year 2 to 6 donned their aprons and chef hats as they prepared their own Chinese rice dish. Polishing their cutting, marinating and searing skills, the children learnt how to create their own healthy meal working in small teams.  The corridors

were filled with the mouth watering smells of chicken, soy sauce and chinese spices as each group took their turn to cook and most importantly taste their vegetable filled chinese dish. Smiles were a plenty as both children and teachers tucked in.
