Today, we hosted our highly anticipated Art Day, marking the return of a beloved event that celebrates creativity and imagination while raising vital funds for the school’s art curriculum.
This exciting occasion saw students embracing their artistic flair by wearing their regular uniforms with a colorful twist—replacing one item with a garment in a primary color (red, blue, or yellow) and making a small donation to support the continued growth of its art provision.
In the lead-up to Art Day, the community was encouraged to donate materials such as unwanted rolls of wallpaper, plain bedding, and chalks. Pupils also had the chance to participate in various creative activities throughout the day, including break and lunchtime workshops designed to inspire their artistic talents.
A key feature of the event was the shirt-decorating activity, where children brought an old shirt or t-shirt to personalize—an item they could continue using in their art lessons.
The school would like to express gratitude for the ongoing support and generosity of the Colsterworth community, emphasizing that participation in Art Day will help to cultivate the artistic potential of its pupils.
