Our Kitten Class have had a truly wonderful week of hands-on learning! As part of their Welly Wednesday adventures, the children picked apples from our very own Newton’s Apple Tree, grown right here in the school grounds from a small sapling. On Thursday, they used their harvest to create delicious apple tarts in class — measuring, mixing, and baking with great care and excitement. This activity not only allowed the children to explore where food comes from but also celebrated a special piece of local heritage linked to Sir Isaac Newton himself. What a fantastic example of cultural capital in action, combining nature, history, and practical life skills — and what a delicious way to learn!
