Paralympian Jonathan Broom-Edwards visits Colsterworth

Colsterworth proudly welcomed Paralympic athlete Jonathan Broom-Edwards into school today. After sharing with us his recent battles with injury and his continuing perseverance leading to success in the world championships in November, Jonathan led the children in learning about body language. Jonathan and his mascot, Torch, asked the children to reflect upon how their own body language demonstrates their feelings. Linking to our school wellbeing collective worship earlier in the week, the children were able to explain how they feel in response to different situations and how their body language shows this. To round up his talk Jonathan led the children in performing a 'power pose' to use at times when they are feeling less confident and are in need of some courage. Look out for power poses around the school!
